Principal Investigator Gul Deniz Salali is an assistant professor and British Academy research fellow in Evolutionary Anthropology and Evolutionary Medicine at University College London. She researches human behaviour and health using evolutionary approaches. Dr. Salali obtained her Leverhulme Trust funded PhD at UCL studying cultural evolution and behavioural adaptations in Mbendjele BaYaka hunter-gatherers in Congo.
