Gul Deniz Salali is an assistant professor and British Academy research fellow in Evolutionary Anthropology and Evolutionary Medicine at University College London. She researches human behaviour and health using evolutionary approaches. Dr. Salali obtained her Leverhulme Trust funded PhD at UCL studying cultural evolution and behavioural adaptations in Mbendjele BaYaka hunter-gatherers in Congo. She did a 2-year research Master’s in Evolutionary Biology (MEME) funded by the European Union and conducted research projects in the Netherlands (University of Groningen), France (University of Montpellier II) and Canada (University of British Columbia).
